Party Food : Football Referee Cookies

The Super Bowl is coming up in a few weeks and I always make these for the big game. They are easy to make, but fair warning they are a bit time consuming. It will take a good bit of your afternoon.  I learned after a few years , when my kids were a bit older, to form an assembly line to get them done faster. After they are dipped in white chocolate and dried, one person does the stripes, another adds the eyes and mouth and a third cuts the wafers in half and make the visors.

There isnt a recipe to these, buy I will list the I gradients that I use. Happy Super Bowl Sunday!!!

What you will need:
1 package of Nutter Butter cookies
White candy wafers
Black candy wafers
Package small candy eyes
Black icing (in a tube, found at most grocery stores)

Directions:
1. Melt the white candy wafers according to package directions. Dip each cookie about halfway and set them on parchment paper to dry.
2. Melt 3/4 of the black wafers and place in a ziploc bag. Cut off a tip of the bag and insert a straight tip. Make lines over the white melt and let dry.
3. Using the small tube of black icing add the eyes and pain on the mouth.
4. Break the black wafers in half and using the remaining black melted candy wafers, put a small amount over the eyes and place on the half wafer (the hat)
5. Allow the cookies to get for about and hour. Store in an airtight container. Stack in single layers with parchment paper in between.
